A Tidbit: Joshua Tree

Accepting the WordPress weekly photo challenge for the first time and this week’s theme is Earth!  Recently drove through and only scratched the surface of California’s Joshua Tree National Park.  Getting to experience its unspoiled landscape (which has only a few amenities/compromises here and there) was absolutely breathtaking!  It was also relieving to see that, while we humans have built on and made many wondrous changes to our planet, there are still some corners – some pieces of our Earth – that remain just as they have been and as they always should be.

Cheers!

They are! Once you get in among them and the cactus and plants, it’s like being in a different world!

I love Joshua Tree NP, and it is as you say, Amy, delightfully unspoiled.

Yes! Glad I read ahead first and brought food and water for our day. I almost assumed there’d be a cafeteria or general store with food – and that would have been a mistake! Can’t wait to go see more!

You know, I have never been there, but have always wanted to. Sounds like it comes highly recommended. Think I need to add it to my list. 🙂 Nice shot.

We had the opportunity to spend a few nights camping in Joshua Tree. We probably went to the Cholla Gardens 5 or 6 times because of their beauty at every time of day. It was life-changing on all levels. Great photo! 🙂
